When and how do I express interest in the Erasmus programme?

Closes: Jan 15th for all other programs
Financial Matters
During the semester abroad, students remain full-time registered students of IADT and do not pay tuition fees at the host University.
The ERASMUS programme is self-funded. However, students studying in Programme countries may receive an EU mobility grant, to assist with the added cost of living abroad. This grant should not affect any other local grant funding, for example, the SUSI grant.
Grant amount
The Erasmus mobility grant is calculated based on various criteria:
- The country where the host institution is located; for Academic Year 2025/26, the grant amounts for study placements were between €330 and €385 per month
- The exact duration of the stay abroad; students are required to submit enrolment documents as evidence of the start and end dates.
NB: The minimum duration to qualify for Erasmus funding is 2 months (60 days). The mobility grant is paid to students for the duration of their stay abroad for the purpose of their studies only (early arrivals or late departures outside of official semester dates will not be included in the grant calculation). - Students should try and save as much as possible prior to the semester abroad to pay for flights, accommodation, food, activities, trips, etc.
- The Erasmus mobility grant is intended to be a contribution towards the additional costs of the mobility, not a full maintenance grant. While students may make use of the grant as they see fit, they should not rely on the grant for all living expenses.
Choosing your Erasmus Destination
Before choosing a destination, students should thoroughly research the institutions with which IADT has exchange agreements in the subject area of their degree programme.
Students may select universities from the partner list for their degree programme only.
Find information on the partner university’s website. All the destinations link to the Erasmus pages or IADT’s partners. Find information on the host city.
